Paul Guest

Former Navy Regular Paul ‘Bulldog’ Guest is a wheelchair user and suffers from both visual and hearing impairments. From Essex, he is gearing up to compete in wheelchair basketball at the 2017 Invictus Games. He said: “Before becoming part of the Help for Heroes Band of Brothers fellowship, I had locked myself away from life for over 10 years and tried taking my own life many times. Being part of this has and will give me my self-respect back. It’s given me hope and shown me a way forward.” Paul is now holding his head up high again and is looking forward to Toronto: “It will help my family cope too and give my children a reason to be proud of their father again.” After the Games, he’s planning on becoming more involved with Help for Heroes by taking part in events and exploring the idea of coaching courses.
