- Veterans
- Service personnel
- Family members
- Civilians who worked under UK military command
who are receiving, or have received, support from Help for Heroes.

My Recovery is designed to help veterans, and families easily book activities, access self-help resources, and complete questionnaires about their wellbeing. The portal offers tailored support and tools to enhance overall wellbeing and support a recovery journey.

2. Using My Recovery

My Recovery is available to members of the UK Armed Forces Community. It’s specifically designed to support the unique needs of veterans, civilians who have worked under UK command, and families.

To help guide you, My Recovery includes a helpful wizard feature - to start, click the ‘?’ icon in the banner at the top of the page, or click here. This tool will walk you through each section and is designed to support new users.

Click on your name in the top-right corner of the screen and select ‘My Profile’. From there, you can:
- Add or change your profile picture
- Update your personal details
- Review or adjust consent preferences
- Complete or edit your health questionnaire
Everything is in one place, so it’s easy to make changes whenever you need.

Visit the Reset Your Password page and enter your email address. You’ll then receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password. Still need help? Get in touch at: myrecovery@helpforheroes.org.uk.

3. Self-Help Guides on My Recovery

Self-help guides are online interactive guides to work through anywhere, at your own pace at whatever time suits you.
They are designed to be an overview with tools tips and strategies to support you with a variety of subjects, from anger to sleep to goal setting and many more.

To get started, simply head to the ‘Self-Help’ section in the top navigation bar. From there you can browse available subjects and select the one you would like to work through.
Prefer to learn with others? We also offer group courses run via Microsoft Teams, where you can explore these subjects alongside others in the Armed Forces Community - just look out for the ‘Register your interest’ button.
If you have any specific learning requirements, we’re always happy to help. Feel free to get in touch, and we’ll do our best to support you.

Can't find what you're looking for? Speak to your point of contact within the Charity or visit the Contact Us page.We’re available Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. Calls to this number are charged at your standard network rate.

Self-help guides are available online for you to explore at your own pace, whenever it suits you best. Feel free to revisit them as often as you like. There’s no limit, and no pressure.

All our subjects are also available as group courses, hosted online via Microsoft Teams, allowing you to learn alongside others in the Armed Forces Community. If you're unfamiliar with Microsoft Teams, we can arrange a test call to help you get started.
Each group usually includes up to 10 participants, supported by up to 3 experienced facilitators, creating a space that’s informal and friendly. Sessions are designed with flexibility in mind, to include regular breaks, you are welcome to sit wherever you are comfortable and move around when you feel you need to.

4. Booking Activities on My Recovery

Browse the available Activities, select the one you’re interested in, and follow the booking prompts. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your place is secured.
Activities you’re booked onto will appear in your calendar - just click ‘Calendar’ in the top banner.

The event organiser will be in touch with you directly, so you can share any preferences or questions with them. Alternatively, visit the Contact Us page - we're here to help with any queries or changes.

My Recovery offers a variety of ways to connect and take part - from outdoor activities and workshops to group classes and relaxed social gatherings. Be sure to check the Activities page regularly, as new events are added all the time.
