Thinking about getting on your bike and taking part in the South’s most iconic bike ride? Here you can find all the information you need for the famous London to Brighton Cycle Ride.

What is the London to Brighton cycle ride?

The London to Brighton Cycle Ride has taken place every year since 1976 (apart from 2021 due to Coronavirus). Starting at Clapham Common and ending on Brighton’s beautiful seafront, thousands of riders from across the country pedal along a 55-mile (85km) route.

The route will take riders soaring across glorious countryside and climbing up the hilly South Downs. The ride provides a great challenge for seasoned cyclists and beginners alike and provides a fantastic opportunity for fundraisers to raise money for charity.

Fun fact: Did you know the route started as a car rally before Robert Stredder and his partner created a bike version.
