How does my fundraising help?
However you decide to Hero Up, your support means we can continue to be here for wounded veterans and their families when they need us.
During these unprecedented times, Help for Heroes is supporting veterans with their mental health via phone and Skype, providing emergency grants for those who are struggling to pay their bills or feed their families, helping them to plan for the future, and continuing to give Armed Forces families the support they need most. Every pound you raise will make a difference.
£50 could fund an emergency food basket for a veteran and their family for a week
£100 could pay for a psychological wellbeing assessment, mental health treatment plan and access to psychological therapy
What platform can I stream on?
You can embed Twitch, Mixer and Youtube streams directly on your GivePenny fundraising page, which means all your friends and family can see what you’re up to on the day of the Hero Up challenge. If you use another streaming platform, you’ll still be able to use the GivePenny tools.
Which games can I play?
You can play any game that you enjoy, with the console of your choice. Maybe you want to sharpen your skills on a tried and tested favourite, or there’s a new game you’ve got your eye on. You could even keep it old-school and have a boardgame session instead. If you’re planning a longer challenge, why not mix it up with a few different games and set up tournaments or speedruns?
Can I create a team to do my Hero Up challenge?
Absolutely! You can choose one member of the team to register the team’s name to get started, or alternatively ask all your teammates to register individually.
Can under 18s take part?
Hero Up is only open to participants aged 18 and over. Help for Heroes takes the safety and wellbeing of children seriously. If you are 16-18 years of age and would like to fundraise for our wounded, you can find lots of ideas on our website here, or alternatively contact our Supporter Care Team on 0300 303 9888 to discuss your plans.
Will my personal details be secure?
