Christmas Fundraising Ideas

Christmas card donations

Make a real difference by donating all or part of what you would normally spend on Christmas cards.

Alternatively, encourage your work colleagues to donate to our cause instead of sending cards this year.  Contact our Supporter Care Team on 0300 303 9888 or email  to receive our Christmas message tag, which you can personalise for friends and family, or our Christmas message poster to display on your work’s notice board.

Secret Santa

Instead of spending £10 on Secret Santa gifts, why not ask your colleagues to set the limit at £8 and have everyone donate £2 to Help for Heroes

Christmas Up your House!

Bring a bit of festive cheer to your street this Christmas! Ask your neighbours to decorate their porches, front windows or front gardens in the spirit of Christmas and get everyone involved in judging the winner. Each house pays an entry fee to get involved and the most creative décor wins a prize.

Festive Fancy Dress

Wearing a Christmas jumper or bobble hat at work or at school is one of the simplest and most popular ways to fundraise during the festive period.  Set an official date and ask everyone to make a small donation to take part.  You could also hold a competition for the best festive dress!

Gift Wrapping

A lot of people find themselves short on time when it comes to wrapping the gifts they’ve bought their loved ones, while many others simply don’t enjoy it!  Offer a gift-wrapping service in exchange for a donation for wounded veterans.  And, remember, ribbons and bows warrant even bigger donations!

Creative Christmas

Organise a crafty Christmas and sell seasonal goodies made by you and your family and friends.  This could be anything from mince pies or Christmas cake to flower arrangements or soft toys.

Guess the Angel

Ask friends or colleagues to bring in photos of themselves as a baby or toddler and then get everyone to guess who’s who for a £1 donation.  You could even offer a prize for the person with the highest number of correct guesses!

Christmas Crackers

This couldn’t be easier!  Buy some crackers and insert a golden ticket into one of them.  Ask for a donation for each cracker and split ‘the pot’ between the lucky winner and Help for Heroes.

Christmas shopping

Raise donations direct from the comfort of your own sofa?  Shop through Amazon Smile, simply select Help for Heroes as your charity of choice and Amazon will make a donation directly to us! Visit:

Similarly, if you’re shopping online at Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Argos, Dominos Pizza, Expedia and around 4000 other online outlets, by going through Easy Fundraising or Give as You Live and selecting Help for Heroes as your charity of choice, a donation will be made directly to us.

And don’t forget to tell your friends, family and neighbours about this too!
