Better Combat Compensation
In 2016/17, the Ministry of Defence held a consultation on introducing their plans to introduce a new compensation scheme for injured armed forces personnel and families of those killed in combat.
Under the plans, compensation would be paid at levels which a court would award, but there would be no legal recourse if the award was deemed insufficient. The consultation also sought views on Government plans to clarify the scope of the common law principle of Combat Immunity.
The Government is yet to respond.
