Poppy joined us back in 2013, and started her journey working in the donations team. She moved to her role in the Supporter Care Team in 2018 as a Senior Supporter Care Advisor.
A typical day in my role involves supporting our valued supporters—whether they’re making a donation, registering a fundraiser, or seeking information on how to get involved. I also handle Helpline calls to assist members of the armed forces community. Alongside this, I support the wider Supporter Care team with complex queries, training, and processes, and work collaboratively across the charity to ensure we deliver an exceptional supporter experience.
My favourite aspect of the role is being able to make a genuine difference to both our supporters and the armed forces community. I value the meaningful conversations I have each day—whether that’s helping someone set up a regular gift, providing reassurance through a Helpline call or supporting one of my colleagues.
What I enjoy most about working at Help for Heroes is the people—being part of a passionate, collaborative team and engaging with our dedicated supporters and volunteers. Their commitment and enthusiasm make every day rewarding.
I love working at Help for Heroes because every day I get to make a real difference—supporting our amazing donors, fundraisers, and the armed forces community. The people are what make the charity extraordinary. Being surrounded by a passionate, supportive team brings real purpose and fulfilment to my work"
