policy information
At Help for Heroes, we really care about your data privacy rights and we want to make you aware that we sometimes take still photographs and video recordings at meetings, events, and functions.
You may attend one of these events along with other individuals and it would be impractical and difficult to seek the clear consent of each attendee or passer-by. Where the images/videos recorded are of a crowd and do not focus on one individual or a group of individuals, it is unlikely to be personal data as the individuals will not be identifiable.
You can read more about your rights relating to our use of videos and photographs by reading our privacy policy.
Help for Heroes will contact you before any content is shared with external audiences (e.g., news media) to give you the opportunity to agree to specific uses of your story and image(s).
You can update your media consent preferences at any time through your My Recovery profile, by speaking with your case manager, or by talking to an event organiser.
BY ACCEPTING THE MEDIA CONSENT POLICY, YOU CONSENT TO:
• Help for Heroes using photographs, video, and audio recordings of me taken by Help for Heroes or by persons or organisations authorised on behalf of Help for Heroes for the purposes of internally and externally promoting Help for Heroes and the support of wounded veterans and their families. This content may be used in any media including print and digital media formats.
• Help for Heroes using my personal information including my full name, image, and case study for the purposes of internally and externally promoting Help for Heroes and the support of wounded veterans and their families. This content may be used in any media including print and digital media formats.
