This Armed Forces Week 2025, we have launched our People’s Promise to Veterans. A way of showing our Armed Forces community, and those with the power to make change happen, just how many of us care.

Often dealing with injuries and illness, many veterans need additional support after service. And they are telling us that that help simply doesn’t exist. With global threats rising, the cracks in support for those who have protected us will only get bigger.

What is the People's Promise to Veterans?

By signing the People's Promise, you'll be showing that you support

  1. Better access to healthcare for veterans. Where professionals understand their unique challenges and have the tools to meet them.
  2. Financial security for veterans. No veteran should face unnecessary hurdles to get the compensation, benefits or support they are entitled to.
  3. Consistent support for veterans. No-one should be disadvantaged by a failing system that leaves the people who protect us to struggle on their own because of where they live.
  4. A society that fulfils its duty to veterans. Supporting veterans is a shared duty. From government to business, communities to individuals, we all have a role to play - and we can all do more.

In 2007, Help for Heroes were there on the ground when the Hercules carrying our wounded, sick and injured touched down on UK soil – and we’ve been there for our veterans and their families ever since. Every day, our team hears stories from those we support, and the ways they feel let down by the nation they served. We don’t believe that’s right. The People’s Promise asks the Great British Public to stand united and fight alongside veterans to ensure they get the lifelong care they deserve.”
