From March 2024, alongside raising funds for us, Ambassador Cruise Line is offering exclusive access to our veterans, as well as hosting a series of onboard activities, such as talks and competitions, to promote the goals and ambitions of Help for Heroes.
To mark D-Day 80 both Ambassador cruise ships - Ambition and Ambience – anchored off the beaches of Normandy on 6 June, where troops landed 80 years ago.
Guests and crew on board the two ships commemorated the 80th Anniversary with a ceremony and two minutes silence to remember our nation's heroes. Guests and crew gathered on deck to pay their respects on this historic day and where Help for Heroes Ambassadors addressed the guests. The service was followed by a themed lunch, made with rationed items, and a Great British Deck Party with Afternoon Tea.
Help for Heroes Ambassadors Jamie Hull and Nick Richardson were on board the ships and shared their experiences and recovery journeys, bringing the partnership to life. It has been a truly special and emotional event for everyone on board.

Launched back in 2021 for the UK Market, Ambassador Cruise Line is a no-fly cruise line offering authentic experiences, affordable quality, and the warmest welcome at sea. The cruise line first set sail in 2022 in their first ship Ambience, from the company’s home port of London Tilbury. Ambition, their second ship, entered service in May 2023, alongside the launch of sailings from eight regional UK ports.
