The Great North Run is one of the worlds most iconic half marathons, and you can join Team Help for Heroes in 2021 in support of our veterans and their families who need us now, more than ever.
The famous route takes you from the centre of Newcastle, through Gateshead to the stunning coastline of South Shields.

Our charity places for this event are now sold out, however we are operating a reserve list for this event and will contact you on a first come, first served basis should one of our runners be unable to take part. We rely on people like you for 97% of our income, and with most of our fundraising activities and events cancelled, your support at this time means more to us than ever.
We want you to know exactly where your money is going. Your total fundraising target is £390 (due by 12 October 2021). We ask you to raise the first £120 of this by 12 June 2021 to cover the cost of your place.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THIS CHALLENGE?
Register for a Help for Heroes charity place directly with us, via the 'Register Now' button to book your place. Your place will be confirmed once you have met the First Fundraising Target of £120 (due by 12 June 2021) which covers the cost of your place.
If you have already secured your own place and wish to fundraise for Help for Heroes then set up your JustGiving fundraising page and select us as your charity - this will notify us you are fundraising for our veterans and their families.
Where does my fundraising go?
The first £120 of your fundraising target covers the cost of your participation in the challenge.
Anything you fundraise over this amount is the money that Help for Heroes can use to provide lifelong support to our wounded, injured and sick Service Personnel, Veterans and their loved ones.
What are the guidelines for Covid-19 safe fundraising
The health and the safety of all our supporters is really important to us. Please keep safe and follow the Government Guidelines including any local lockdown requirements when doing any fundraising on behalf of Help for Heroes. For full guidelines please check the Institute of Fundraising website to ensure you are familiar with what is required of you, the fundraiser, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
