Our Community Fundraising Manager, John Carpenter, was on hand to collect a cheque from Step by Step Dance School, the team behind the Strictly Banbury event.

After the presentation, around 50 people enjoyed watching a film of this year’s Strictly Banbury final, which took place in the town in April.

Joint organiser and dance instructor Glenda Harper said: “We did not get to the £30,000 we were hoping for, as some of the gift aid was not awarded. However, we did get £29,010.50.

Our thanks go to everybody involved with Strictly Banbury ... they were all fab-u-lous!

Twenty competitors participated in the competition, which had a theme of 80 years of peace. Dancers started preparing for the competition in February, ahead of their final performances in April.
