Plymouth Naval Service Recovery Centre
When it is completed, it will offer serving and veteran members of all three services who have suffered life-changing injuries or illnesses whilst serving our country state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities and adaptive accommodation to help them recover.
The Naval Service Recovery at HMS Drake will consist of two purpose built facilities:
- Endeavour Centre – a purpose build recovery complex offering state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment
- Parker VC – a specialist adaptive accommodation facility with 60 cabins and 6 family rooms
The new Endeavour Centre will house specialist rehabilitation facilities including a 25 metre swimming pool, a 25m sprung floor gymnasium and fully adaptive Cardio Vascular equipment, a physiotherapy suite with purpose designed clinical treatment rooms, and a hydrotherapy pool. The facility will also house a revolutionary Support Hub which will give Servicemen, women and veterans access to specialist Service charities and agencies in a single location, ensuring that they are easily able to access the support they need.
Serving members of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines are currently rehabilitated at HMS Drake and may apply to Help for Heroes for grants and support.
At present, veteran members of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines are welcome to use other Recovery Centres while the Naval Service Recovery Centre is being developed. Once operational, veteran members of the Armed Forces will be able to use the Naval Service Recovery Centre.
