Steve served with the Welsh Guards in the Army until June 2006. He’s a single below knee amputee.

He says that sport has played a huge role in his recovery from injury: “I used sport a marker to gauge my progress and constantly set new goals and objectives.”

He says that he was immediately aware of how important setting physical goals were in the pathway to recovery from injury: “My first major goal was to run 10km, I achieved this after eight months I then re-evaluated these and ran a half marathon one year post injury.  My rehab plan led me into triathlon.”

Talking about his nomination on the PiP programme he said: “It is a hugely exciting opportunity and I feel very fortunate to have been selected for the PiP programme.”
