When Private Scott McNeice joined the Army as a Health Care Assistant in the Nursing Corps, he had no idea he would spend time at Headley court not only as a member of staff but now as an amputee inpatient. But now, the 33-year-old from Derbyshire is making new strides as part of the 2018 Invictus Games UK team. “The Invictus Games has been a beacon of light in my road to recovery since I watched the 2017 Games the week before my left leg was amputated. I was enthralled by the personal journeys of the competitors and their ability to get through the worst of times and come out stronger.” Already, the Invictus training camps have given Scott a boost, to not only get back into sport but try new ones as well.  “There have been plenty of people ready to tell me what I can’t or won’t be able to do anymore. The Games will help me prove to both them and myself that they are wrong, and that anything is possible. It has already helped to start opening my mind to a brighter future.”
