Categories: Invictus Games 2016 Athletes

Mark suffers from PTSD as well as injuries to his spine and legs. Mark wants to get a sense of achievement once again. He has tried to complete and push himself against able-bodied people but came away feeling deflated as he has been at a disadvantage. Invictus Games would give Mark the chance to compete on a level playing field. The sense of inclusion and being part of a team representing the UK is something Mark misses not being in the army anymore.

Mark’s goal for next year is to reach a state where he can leave behind the pain of being discharged from the Army through accomplishing something else and to look forward rather than back. Mark also hopes to gain the confidence he’s lost. Mark has had support from H4H over the last year and says it would be amazing to be a part of raising their profile even more and raising money for future people to benefit as he has.
