Serving Lieutenant Kirsty Wallace Royal Navy has incomplete paraplegia after breaking her back in 2007. Initially paralysed from the waist down she has relearnt to walk. Sport has been a key component of her long term rehabilitation. The latest part of her journey is striving to compete at the Invictus Games 2016 where a wheelchair is just another piece of sporting equipment rather than a mobility aid. It is once again the opportunity to feel part of a team and support each other to achieve the maximum potential, while increasing her own fitness and core strength. Although wheelchair basketball is her main sport she is also competing in wheelchair racing on the track, swimming and the hand bike alongside supporting her team mates as the Vice Captain for Team Sports.
