RAF veteran Jeff Robinson served in six different war zones and thinks himself lucky that he was not shot or blown up, but he still left service with his mind and body ‘battered and broken’. While in recovery, a motorcycle accident left him paralysed from the chest down and mourning for the life he had lost. A series of chance encounters led to Jeff signing up to train towards, and being selected for, a place on the UK Team Wheelchair Rugby squad. He will also compete in swimming. Jeff said: “The quest to be part of the Invictus Games 2017 UK Team is the spark that ignited my want to live again. It gave me the feeling of worth and self-esteem that I can be part of something inspirational and not just a burden on society. I'm enjoying my journey again and I'm part of a team again.”
