Veteran Royal Navy Aircraft Engineer Jamie Weller is visually impaired with complete loss of central vision that extends into his peripheral fields and leaves a large central blind spot in both eyes.  He has been through high and low times since the loss of sight diagnosis, achieving a great deal through his post-military career but also facing a battle with anxiety and depression which meant he was no longer able to sustain a high-pressured career at Deloitte. He turned to sport to regain focus and direction in his life. Jamie will compete in cycling and he hopes to do it alongside Invictus Games medallist Craig Preece as his pilot. He will also run for the UK Team. Jamie said: “I was lost and deflated trying to find a new focus and drive. I believe Invictus will give this, allowing me to maximise the high fitness level I have built up over a full time year of training and be part of a massive competition representing my country. I need this chance to represent the UK Team to inspire others in their recovery journey and also show others just what is possible.  ”
