Categories: Invictus Games 2017 Athletes

Clare serves with the Royal Air Force as a Chief Technician. Having felt unwell since 2013, leading to depression, she was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 2016. Knowing this will bring to an end her military career after nearly 30 years of service hit her hard. Unable to see how she could move forward in life, sport is now giving Clare a new focus. She will be competing in archery and powerlifting at Invictus 2017. “I was inspired by my brother’s achievements at the London and Orlando Invictus Games, and seeing such a difference in his outlook on life. I have found archery really helps me to focus, has given me a new challenge and helped me deal with my depression. Representing the British Armed Forces at Invictus 2017 will be of massive benefit to my future recovery plan.”
