Veteran Benjamin Steele joined the Royal Air Force Regiment in 2001. In May 2009 he was transferred to the Military Provost Guard Service - a tri service unit responsible for the security of military sites within the UK. It was here that Ben was involved in a motorcycle collision involving another motorcyclist just outside Winchester. Ben was hit by an oncoming motorcycle seconds after he had lost control of his own motorcycle on a bend. This resulted in Ben losing his left leg through the knee. Since the accident, Ben has progressed massively, not allowing his injury to take control of his life. Ben has taken part in many activities and sports including skiing and climbing. Ben feels taking part in the 2016 Invictus Games will enable his mental and physical fitness will only get better.
