The 40th Anniversary of the Falklands War is a time to remember the sacrifices of those who stepped up for their country all those years ago. Help for Heroes supports wounded veterans whenever and wherever they served and supports a growing number of Falklands veterans. However, we believe there are many more who need help but have not yet come forward.
We hope that the stories of those Falklands veterans who have changed their lives by asking for help will give others the inspiration to come forward – it is never too late to get support.
Rewarding the bravery
We also hope the Anniversary will inspire the Great British public to remember the bravery of those who fought for us, and donate generously to ensure that we can give veterans of all conflicts the help the need, for as long as they need it.
What will the Charity be doing?
From now until the end of the Anniversary, 14 June, and on some of the key milestones of the war, we will be posting the amazing stories of some of the Falklands veterans we support. They will be sharing their memories of the conflict, bringing their stories to life by sharing with us poignant items that bring the reality of their Falklands experiences to life, and explaining the importance of remembering the War and those who fought in it 40 years ago.
