Marine Ray Lowrie | Rowing

Marine Ray Lowrie (Exeter, Devon)

Sport: Rowing

Ray is a serving Royal Marine who had an elective amputation in June 2013 after 6 years of agony after 11 surgical interventions that failed to give him the level of pain relief, range of movement and function he required following an accident on ice in 2008.

Ray was a keen rower before his injury and his hoping to continue the sport at a competitive level after being spotted at the inaugural Help for Heroes and British Paralympic Association Talent ID event at Tedworth House Recovery Centre just six weeks after his amputation.

Help for Heroes have previously supported Ray with Education and Training courses and fully support his sporting endeavors.
