Medically retired Army Veteran, Captain Ken Hargreaves is honoured to have been asked to become a member of the UK contingent of the 2017 Invictus Games. He has multiple medical issues, from spinal injury, hearing loss, organ damage and M.E. He's a wheelchair user and has the good fortune of having an Assistance Dog (Fred).
With the passage of time and illness, he found himself becoming socially isolated. The unwavering support of his family and friends along with seeing the triumphs of the Invictus Games 2016 inspired him to join a local Archery Club. Over the past months support has been given by The Adam Millichip Foundation, Worshipful Company of Fletchers, Help for Heroes and latterly through the World class coaching and support, provided by the Invictus pathway team. His life now has clear short terms goals with future aims and aspiration replacing isolation.
