Former Army corporal Ian Young channels the ‘buzz’ he gets taking part in sport, particularly endurance running, into his daily life to make sure he approaches every day with a positive attitude to improve his mental health. He will be competing in the athletics for the UK Team. Ian said: “Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on my condition. It also relieves stress, improves memory and helps me sleep better while boosting my overall mood. I enjoy and thrive being part of a team; something I have missed since leaving the Army. Invictus will give me the spark I desire as well as adding my own personal positive attributes to the team. The feeling and sense of achievement of being part of Invictus 2017 would be something I could never have envisaged.”
