CRAFT Study

We are currently involved in the CRAFT study which is being run by King’s College London.

Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) helps the significant others of those suffering with addictive disorders to seek help. CRAFT coaches them on how to motivate loved ones to seek help, and helps them to deal with crises related to their loved ones’ mental health problems.

The CRAFT protocol has also been adapted for veterans (VA-CRAFT) and focuses on veteran-specific issues including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), alcohol use disorder (AUD) or both. In order to pilot VA-CRAFT within the UK ex-Service population, King’s College London proposed anglicising this U.S. model to create UKV-CRAFT.

The research was conducted by King’s Centre for Mental Health Research and the interventions were delivered through our Hidden Wounds psychological wellbeing service.

Results of the study will be available from summer 2020.
