- Official statistics show that 7 people are Medically Discharged from the Armed Forces every single day

- 7 wounded veterans have joined forces at Blackpool Tower displaying the scale of need for support
The Blackpool Tower has been illuminated in Help for Heroes colours this week displaying the number seven as a tribute to those who have put their lives on the line for us.
Today, new statistics obtained by Help for Heroes showing more people need support every single day. Seven men and women are medically discharged from the British Armed Forces each day according to MoD data which was obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. That’s 49 lives changed forever over the course of this Armed Forces Week.
Michelle Turner, wounded RAF Veteran, 47 from Burscough said:
“There are 7 heartbroken people every day. This was never a choice, we never felt we would leave our friends and lose our careers. We think we are in a role for the long run and suddenly it is taken away from us. Your health hasn’t gone to plan. Your job hasn’t gone to plan, ultimately your life has not gone to plan. Where do those 7 people go from there? That’s why Help for Heroes is so important today, and every day.”
