Moto passes £1m milestone supporting Heroes on road to recovery

Moto has celebrated passing the £1m fundraising milestone since the partnership with H4H began in 2012. Last year was the most successful fundraising year yet, with £400k raised through a mix of national events and local fundraising efforts by Moto staff.

Each year Moto employees organise two national collections weekends for Help for Heroes (H4H) during the Easter and Summer bank holiday weekends and a special collection for Armed Forces Day. Last June staff across the UK also cycled an amazing 15,584 kilometres as part of their ‘Hero Ride: The Moto Challenge’ – all without moving from the spot!  The 24-hour static bike challenge raised £22,000 and was such a success they are doing it again this year in May!

A Moto employee summed up what it means to them personally, “Getting involved with Help for Heroes has been extremely rewarding for me” while another commented, “Help for Heroes is a charity everyone can connect with.”

The Moto in the Community Trust (MITC), the charitable arm of Moto Hospitality Ltd, first adopted H4H as its Charity of the Year in 2012 and the partnership has been so successful that MITC unanimously decided to continue to support the Charity into 2016 and beyond.

Chairman of The Moto in the Community Trust, Brian Larkin: “We are very proud of all the Moto staff around the UK who take time out of their busy day to support our fundraising activities and have helped us reach this amazing milestone. Supporting our wounded Heroes is something our customers feel passionate about. Our partnership with Help for Heroes has also had a positive effect on our fundraising for local charities and good causes as well.”

Emma Parry, Co-Founder of Help for Heroes: “Congratulations to Moto on reaching the £1m milestone – it is such an amazing achievement. On behalf of our beneficiaries I’d like to thank the hundreds of thousands of Moto customers who took time out on their journey to show their support and to all the Moto staff who have made this happen. What you have done is making a difference and is helping rebuild lives. Thank you.”
