Alan's update: Midlands region
So like Guy Fawkes, that was November gone in a puff of smoke and we are into December already, where bank balances decrease and waistbands expand - love it!
Thanks for all of you that got along to our breakfast get togethers in Nottingham and Leicester this month, and of course those who represented the whole Band of Brothers on The Cenotaph March Past on Sunday 12th November. Hopefully this will be an annual event moving forward, so it would be great to have plenty of representation from our region next year.
I am really looking forward to our two Christmas functions this year in Burton upon Trent and Newport, Shropshire, and working hard to make sure those of you attending have a great time.
Looking forward we will be get together in Warwick, The Black Country and Derby in January - and keep the date Saturday 17th March (St Patrick's Day-how lucky is dat!) free in your diary for a huge event at The NEC... more to come!
Dates in December:
16th December | Family Christmas Party | Adams Grammar School, Newport, Shropshire |
15th December | Mission Motorsport Track Day | Donnington Park Circuit |
13th December | Christmas Dinner | The Mill House, Stretton near Burton upon Trent |

Lindsay's update: East region
November has seen me out and about in the region. We started with a successful visit to Duxford Imperial War Museum, about 20 of us attended and were given a detailed tour of The Airborne Assault Museum first and then spent the rest of the day exploring the rest of the Museum. It was great to meet lots of new faces.
On the 8th we hosted an Afternoon Tea at the Colchester Recovery Centre, Chavasse VC House, which everyone enjoyed (who can resist any type of cake and scone!). On the 10th I held my first Drop in coffee morning and was supported by one of the keyworkers, which is going to be a regular monthly event, look out for the emails giving you dates and times.
On the 24th I hosted a Meet and Greet in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, which gave me another opportunity to meet new faces, two of which were attending their first H4H event. On the 30th I am off to Norwich City Football Club for another Meet and Greet and I’ve also arranged a Stadium Tour.
I have really enjoyed getting out and about and meeting you all, and will continue to visit as many of the counties as I can in the New Year.
What’s coming up this month:
Family Christmas Party – Again, a very popular event so as in the past we had to hold a ballot and we have informed everyone who was successful. | Chavasse VC House Colchester | 12th December |
BoB Christmas Party - As in the past we had to hold a ballot for this event, as it is so popular, and we have informed everyone who was successful. | Chavasse VC House, Colchester | 7th December |
What? | Where? | When? |
As our Christmas events are so popular, and I know lots of people are disappointed if they aren’t successful in the ballots, I will be holding a further Christmas event next year, somewhere, quite central in the region, so there is more opportunity for people to attend and celebrate Christmas together.
If you need any more information or to sign up to any of the forthcoming events, please email me.
