Sunday morning 19,000 runners took part in the Vitality British 10k London Run – the fourteenth edition of the race – running through several of London’s most iconic areas. Before the start of the race, runners enjoyed readings from General Sir Mike Jackson and the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Audrey Lewis and Bryn Parry who set the tone for an excellent day. The Salisbury Plain Military Wives Choir were also present and in full voice throughout the morning, leading the runners in a rendition of the national anthem. To honour the centenary of the beginning of the First World War, there were a host of soldiers dressed in original period dress, whilst there were also a record number of over 2000 running for Help for Heroes. Notable celebrities such as Charlie King, from The Only Way is Essex, also took part.
A huge thank you and well done to everyone who ran and came down to support on Sunday. What an incredible day! Here are a selection of photos, enjoy having a browse.
