Adrianna's Update | South & South East

It has been a pretty good month for catching up with you all considering I have been away for two weeks of it! We thoroughly enjoyed our quarterly visit to Manzes Pie and Mash shop/

On Sunday 8 October, I was very pleased to meet 8 of you to enjoy Skiffing (rowing) in Surrey. Not only that, but it was brilliant to give the gentleman who runs it an ‘Over and Above’ award for continuing to support Band of Brothers and Sisters.

It was great to go pumpkin picking in Kent! The weather was amazing, and the pumpkins were enormous!

Save the date | our regional Christmas party is on Saturday 9 December in Surrey.

What's coming up this month:

  • Roald Dahl Museum, Buckinghamshire, 4 November
  • Skiffing (rowing), Surrey, 19 November
  • RBL Lunch, West Sussex, 25 November
  • Christmas decoration making, Reading, 29 November

Pip's Update | South West

I was away for a large part of October but came back in time for half term and family fun.

We had a lovely visit to the National Trust property The Vyne near Basingstoke. The roof of the Vyne is undergoing a £5million renovation and has been completely rebuilt and insulated. The project is nearing completion and is looking amazing. The families each decorated and signed a roof tile that will be added to the roof and become a lasting part of the property.

Halloween was celebrated early at Langford Lake nature reserve. It was an unexpectedly beautiful sunny day and we could sit outside and enjoy pumpkin carving and making broomsticks with branches gathered from the woods. Buckets of slime were produced and provided hours of fun and Heidi one of the BoS did colourful glitter tattoos. After a lovely lunch in the sunshine we all did a wonderful nature trail around the lake.

What's coming up this month:

  • Coffee morning at the RBL drop-in centre, 10:30–12:30, Swindon, 14 November
