BoB BoS National Updates | Great Holiday Offers

Posted by: Help For Heroes | Categories: Band Of Brothers , Band Of Sisters , Beneficiaries , Bandstand

We are very lucky to be donated the most amazing holidays every year; whether they are in the UK or abroad. Last year we sent 88 families/couples away on holiday thanks to these very generous donations. With this is mind, we are very aware that the holidays are incredibly popular and therefore we would like to take the opportunity to signpost you to two charities who also offer holidays to individuals who have been wounded, injured or sick during or a result of their services and their families. Please read on for more information…

Give Us Time

Holidays are generously donated by holiday companies or private owners. Give Us Time then matches these with British soldiers who are in need of rest and quality time with their families. Any serviceman or woman is eligible provided that they have been on tour since 2005. Furthermore, families of those personnel who have been discharged through injury or who lost their lives in active operations since 2001 are also eligible. Give Us Time holidays are almost always accommodation only, except in exceptional circumstances.

Heroes Haven Swanage

Heroes Haven Swanage is a purpose built lodge which provides affordable holidays for disabled, injured and visually impaired serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces, their immediate family and carers. Although you will need to pay to stay at this lodge the prices are hugely discounted.

The lodge has been specially designed to cater for wheelchairs and for those that have suffered serious injuries to enjoy a “normal” family holiday.

Situated on the beautiful Isle of Purbeck, the lodge nestles in its own extensive landscaped gardens, which offer a tranquil setting for those looking for a peaceful and relaxing family holiday.

For more information please visit the website here.

If you are interested in either of the above charities please contact them direct via their website
