Since introducing our first catalogue in September 2013, we have had a number of merchandise photoshoots to display our products in their best light and bring some fun and lifestyle into our ranges. We’ve been lucky enough to work with an amazing, talented team who really ‘get’ Help for Heroes and what we’re trying to achieve. We’ve used some great models who’ve been willing to be a bit silly in the name of charity – from climbing trees and dressing in all camo (including face paint!) to racing space hoppers and dancing in onesies.
We have great fun bringing our products to life and creating stories, so we thought we’d give you a little taster into some of the goings-on at an H4H photoshoot...
Photo shoot: Day 1
In November 2014 we shot our Spring 2015 Collection in Camber Sands, East Sussex. We were lucky enough to have fabulous blue sky on the first day of shooting, and although it was cold, it certainly looked like a beautiful spring day. This was our first time working with new models Lawrie and Jessica, so we thought we’d break them into the crazy fun of an H4H shoot gently by putting them in Lycra and making them ride bikes downhill whilst posing! They did a fab job, despite being a little chilly in short sleeves and bib shorts.
We had great fun messing around in the woods with Lawrie later that afternoon while he was modelling our ‘Earth Tones’ collection. We had him climbing over stiles and gates, trudging through long grass and crouching in the mud. Of course he did it in style, grace and with a smile on his face!
Being November, we had to shoot fast and cram lots of shots into a short window as we new it would get dark by 4pm. By the time we got to the beach, the wind was really picking up and the temperature was dropping. To save time, we brought our clothes rail to the beach and created a make shift dressing room by the dunes (which was actually just Helen, our Marketing Executive, holding an H4H beach towel in front of the models as they stripped off!).
We kept Lawrie and Jessica warm by making them run up and down sand dunes in our hoodies… the perfect fitness plan! They particularly enjoyed doing star jumps in the sunset.
Don’t let the sunshine deceive you though…These pictures of our Marketing Manager, Tanya, shows exactly how chilly it was!
But despite the cold, wind and ‘rustic’ dressing room, we got some fantastic fun shots and had a great but tiring day with the Team. Lawrie even made some new friends on the beach, who were more than willing to be in a photo or two, in exchange for some attention!
With lots of ticks on our list, we returned to ‘base camp’ to warm up and have some much needed grub, ready to go again the next day!
Check back here next week for some more fun pictures and stories of Day 2 of our photoshoot…
