Headley Court is moving

Monday 18 June 2018

Help for Heroes is proud to support future generations at the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC), as it moves from Headley Court to its new home in Leicestershire.

Stanford Hall, which opens later this month and will be fully functional at the beginning of 2019, is a larger rehabilitation centre that has been purpose built and will provide state of the art clinical rehabilitation for the treatment of those wounded or injured in service.

The Stanford Hall Estate is over four times larger than Headley Court, and has been built at a cost of over £300m by Black Stork, a charity set up by the late Duke of Westminster

Thanks to your generous donations, we were proud to fund the original swimming pool and the Help for Heroes Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court in 2010 to help those going through clinical rehabilitation.

Based on MOD data, we estimate up to 12,000 wounded servicemen and women have had access to the Help for Heroes Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court since it was opened by HRH Prince William (now the Duke of Cambridge) in June 2010.

We are therefore delighted that the Complex is being transferred to Stanford Hall to continue this vital support. All the facilities within the existing Help for Heroes Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court have been recreated at Stanford Hall funded by the Black Stork charity.

Help for Heroes will continue to work alongside the new DNRC to make sure everyone affected by their Service in the Armed Forces can either return to their military unit or begin a fulfilled and independent life as a Veteran.
