Team Sapper Ride Berlin to Windsor June 2015

Thursday 11 June 2015

Team Sapper is a group of retired Royal Engineers with a passion for fundraising for Help for Heroes. Since 2009 they've raised nearly an astonishing £100,000. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Team Sapper for their incredible fundraising efforts.

The team consists of Ian McGill, Chris Davies, Alan Holman, John Wyatt, Jim Bowden, Tim Robertson, Gerry Taggart and Ian Thomas, Rick Allen, an ex Royal Navy man, is the team's most experienced cyclist by far. He not only plans their routes but maintains discipline in group riding skills.

Support Team is Ian Seward (support driver, an ex senior fire officer), and Aidy Howe (support driver’s mate - serving in 299 Para Sqn RE).

Team Sapper, having taken part in a Band of Brothers Bike Ride in 2009, followed by several more challening bike rides in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, are now taking on a 600 mile ride from Berlin to Windsor. They'll meet up with the rest of our Hero Riders on the 21st June - having left Berlin on the 13th - to join in the revelries at Windsor Racecourse.
