Leaving a gift in your Will

A gift in your Will to Help for Heroes will save and change lives.

By leaving a gift in your Will, you can support our ground-breaking recovery centres, outreach programme and psychological wellbeing services for decades to come.

You can provide rehabilitation, vocational skills and careers guidance, welfare advice, financial grants and a wide range of therapies aimed at helping veterans, military personnel and their families learn to understand, manage and overcome injury or illness.

You can leave a gift of practical help and hope to men and women who have given everything in the service of their country.

Legacies come in all shapes and sizes but every gift has the power to save and change lives.

“If it wasn’t for Help for Heroes, we wouldn’t be here today”

Veterans Bob and Roy have paid a heavy price for serving their country. Hear about the help they’ve received and their heartfelt message for those who leave a gift in their Will.

Whether you have a specific question or just need some general pointers as you begin thinking about your Will, our friendly and experienced legacy team is here to help.

More than a third of our life-changing work is funded by gifts in Wills.

Without legacies and the dedicated people who choose to support us in this way, we simply wouldn’t be able to help as many people as we do or promise them lifelong support.

"I can honestly say that your gift will change people’s lives."

Navy Veteran turned solicitor, Natasha explains the importance of writing a Will and shares her personal experience of the difference your support makes.

Leaving a gift in your Will is a wonderful way to provide for the people and causes you love.

But your gift is more than a donation: it’s part of the legacy you’ll leave to future generations.

Helping veterans and serving personnel to recover is more than repairing damaged bodies and minds; it’s about rebuilding lives, restoring confidence and renewing hope.

It takes time, understanding, expertise and a willingness to walk alongside someone for as long as they need help. It also takes the support of amazing friends like you.

“We want to make sure there’s support for veterans and their families in the future”

Help for Heroes volunteers, Neil and Jacqui, have left a gift in their Will to make sure their support will continue long after their lifetime.

We appreciate that carrying out a loved one’s wishes can be a daunting task, and we’re very grateful to anyone who takes on this responsibility.

Whether you’re an experienced professional or a friend or family member doing this for the first time, we hope you’ll find our Advice for Executors factsheet useful.

In it you’ll find an overview of the information we’re required to ask for, depending on the type of gift we’ve been left, and our contact details in case you’d like to get in touch.
