Lille, France - Arnhem, Belgium
The Big Battlefield Bike Ride (BBBR) is the perfect blend of cycling and historical poignancy. Taking part in this flagship cycling challenge means you're part of the Help for Heroes family.
Riding alongside over 200 other fundraisers, you will start in Lille, France, pass through Waterloo then follow the footsteps of the 1944 Allied Forces to reach Arnhem as the ride's finishing point.
In Arnhem you'll get to see the annual commemoration of the parachute jump, something that has come to epitomise this period of military history.
The Big Battlefield Bike Ride 2017 is now closed for registration. Details for the 2018 ride will be released shortly.

Where does my fundraising go?
The suggested fundraising target for this challenge is £2,995, of which £1,500 must be received by Help for Heroes by Friday 16th June 2017 to cover the cost of your participation. The £1,495 we receive beyond this cost covering target is the money which allows Help for Heroes to continue providing direct, practical support to our beneficiaries. Ideally, we would like your fundraising to have hit £2,995 within 6 weeks of the challenge.
What will the cycling be like?
Our cycling challenges are not designed to be races however you should be comfortable at maintaining around 10-12 mph. An average day will be around 70 miles and expect the occasional hill. The days in the saddle will be broken up with water and food breaks along with historian led stops and visits to war cemeteries.
Can I sign up for more than one challenge?
Yes, of course you can as long as you are committed to hitting the suggested minimum targets for each event. We ask that you fundraise for your challenges chronologically ensuring that you hit target for your first challenge before fundraising for your following challenge.
