Help for Heroes is proud to support the UK Team for the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 taking place between 23–30 September.
More than 300 hopefuls applied to be a part of the 90-strong UK Team to take part in the international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick serving personnel and veterans.
Help for Heroes is working in partnership with the Ministry of Defence and The Royal British Legion to support the UK athletes on their Invictus journey. Help for Heroes led the way in training, selecting and developing the UK athletes this year and will be supporting the athletes all the way to Toronto and beyond.
The action from the Games will be broadcast on BBC One. It will be running a live programme from Toronto featuring sporting highlights and interviews with competitors and their friends and family.

Getting involved in sport helps an individual with self-confidence and feeling psychologically empowered. These significant mental health benefits can be translated outside of sport and into everyday life which is why events like the Invictus Games are so important.
For those that did not get selected, there is opportunity to get involved in the broader Help for Heroes Sports Recovery programme, or directly with local sports clubs in their area via the network of national governing body sports supporting the training of the UK Team this year.
