What is it?
A mountaineering development week which will take place off-site at the Joint Service Mountain Training Centre (JSMTC). The week will teach beneficiaries key mountaineering skills such as route finding, navigation, hazard awareness, emergency procedures, knowledge of equipment, mountain access, understanding weather conditions and conserving the mountain environment.
Who is it for?
Wounded, injured and sick veterans and serving personnel. Applicants should ideally have a some experience of mountaineering or trekking.
Why is it offered?
Mountaineering can be stimulating and therapeutic activity for many individuals. Breathing fresh mountain air, being away from any other habitation and gaining confidence to fully understand navigation in a mountain environment can enhance the wellbeing of individuals
