Chainsaw Course

What is it?

At Tedworth House, we run two different types of Chainsaw Course. The basic Cross-cutting & Maintenance Course is a 2-day Lantra Course with NPTC assessment on the third day. This course covers risk assessments, health & safety, chainsaw maintenance, safety procedures and cross cutting. Following this course, you can then progress to the Lantra Technical Award in Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm. This higher level course takes place over 4 days and it is important to be confident with using a Chainsaw before progressing to this level.

Who is it for?

Wounded, injured and sick Service Personnel and Veterans who are seeking a potential career in Land-based activities such as Forestry, Arboriculture, Horticulture or Woodland Conservation.

Why is it offered?

To provide a subsidised course for those that are serious about pursuing a career that requires land-based skills and to offer a platform for pursuing such a career.
