The Invictus Games Choir is an important recovery activity for wounded, injured and sick Serving and Veteran Personnel. Supported by Help for Heroes, the Choir’s rehearsals and performance opportunities build confidence and provide a creative outlet to help members along their recovery journeys.
“Even after 18 months I still don’t like singing on my own in front of people, but when I sing with the Invictus Games Choir I am not on my own. I am vulnerable, but I am safe, and most of all I am understood. There is no judgement but my own and there is no sympathy, just empathy.”
There are lots of wellbeing benefits of singing as part of the Choir. It can bring a new sense of purpose and achievement, the feeling of being part of a team with those who have shared experiences, as well as the support and friendship of like-minded people.
If you would like to find out more about getting involved with the Choir, we would love to hear from you.
You don’t need to be an experienced singer and there are no auditions, the Choir is about your personal recovery journey.
