The Future
By September 2012, Tedworth House will be at Full Operating Capacity and able to house 54 residents. Progress so far has been fast. Here’s what we’ve achieved already and what the next few months have in store;
Phase 1: Completed - June 2011
Phase 2: Completed - December 2011. The first part of the renovation of the West Wing is complete and the Battle Back team are now in their offices, ready to get the residents back into outdoor activities.
Phase 3: June 2012 – A year after the first residents arrived, the remainder of the West Wing will have been finished. This will be called ‘Jimi’s Wing’, in memory of Jimi Heselden OBE. Jimi was Chairman of Hesco Bastion Ltd, the world-leading manufacturer of protective barriers used to protect British and coalition troops around the world. Jimi was a huge supporter of H4H, raising large amounts of money for the charity. He also sponsored the Heroes Concert in September 2010. Jimi sadly passed away suddenly on 26th September 2010 and it seemed a fitting tribute to name a wing of Tedworth House after the man called ‘the heroes’ hero’. A Children’s play area will also be finished.
Phase 4: September 2012, the Phoenix Centre will be opened and fully operational and will mark the last stage of major development at Tedworth House although minor work will continue until Summer 2013.
