Daniel Kitcher

Innsworth, Gloucester

A former Corporal in the Army, Daniel has an injury to both his left and right shoulder, as well as his spine which leaves him with tingling and numbness in both legs. He always enjoyed playing volleyball and football but after his injuries, his self-confidence, mental toughness and physical ability all declined. He said: “Participating in the Games will play a pivotal role in my life because it’s the decision to maintain my self-confidence, break through the mental barrier and I genuinely believe that within adversity lies a new opportunity to get stronger and healthy. I trust that participating in the Games will be a huge moment for me to stand my ground and believe in myself that I am Invictus, and adapt to a `new normal`.”
