Charlie Walker

Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Army veteran Charlie has a double below knee amputation as a result of meningitis. He also has lower back damage which causes instability and prevents running. Charlie is talented in team sports and was a driving force behind the British Armed Forces Wheelchair Basketball, Rugby and Sitting Volleyball teams at the Invictus Games 2014. He says: “Sport gives me focus in life and helps me control my weight and mental health. Adaptive sport also helps me realise life is about the things you can do not the things you can't. The chance to compete gives me drive and motivation. I also think I can help others to succeed in sport.”
