This section is dedicated to those companies, organisations and charities who help us to deliver the best to those we support.
The British Paralympic Association (BPA) and Help for Heroes have worked together for the past few years. However, it was after the London 2012 Paralympic Games that this partnership was formalised with the creation of the Front Line to Start Line programme to introduce talented injured and ill service personal and veterans to Paralympic Sport.
This work has been supported by the addition of a Help for Heroes althete cohort to the successful Paralympic Inspiration Programme, at the Sochi Winter Paralympic Games. This saw eight talented individual’s travel to Sochi to experience the atmosphere of a Paralympic Games.
The aim of the Paralympic Inspiration Programme, which is run by the BPA, is to give hopeful Paralympians the chance to discover what happens at a Paralympic Games. This is often the athlete’s first step towards becoming a future Paralympian. The Programme provides both inspiration and education and is designed to help drive a new generation of athletes to aim for Paralympic success.
It is the hope of BPA and Help for Heroes that this partnership will ultimately lead to more wounded, injured or sick service personnel and veterans taking part in future Paralympic Games; enabling those who have suffered a life changing injury or illness to represent their country once again.
