The Arch to Arc Teams
Twenty four wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans - part of a group from Help for Heroes – lined up on the start line as the first disabled group to take on the Enduroman Arch to Arc challenge on Friday 25 September.
Rifleman Anthony Allen - ACHIEVE
Anthony, 24, serves with the 3rd Battalion, The Rifles in the British Army. He suffered a mental breakdown in 2014 and was diagnosed with PTSD. He got into sport via Help for Heroes thanks to the staff at Phoenix House Recovery Centre in February 2015.
Sport has helped keep his focus and he has benefitted hugely from taking part in regular training for the challenge. Recently Anthony was given the all clear to return to work and he acknowledges he couldn't have done it without the support from Help for Heroes who encouraged him to cycle and get involved in triathlons to help him look to the future.
