Bournemouth announced as stage for summer world record attempt
– sponsor a firework and raise money for Help for Heroes

More Bus LogoMore Bus Bournemouth Air Festival organisers have unveiled a world record attempt that is set to be a heart-pounding, roaring, glowing, explosive event like no other – the launch of 110,000 fireworks in 60-seconds or less!

The ‘Roar on the Shore’ world record attempt will not only be celebrating the launch of this year’s More Bus Bournemouth Air Festival but will also be a fundraising event for Help for Heroes.

Fundraising is the key to Roar on the Shore and organisers are encouraging everyone to get involved and participate – event costs will be covered by sponsorship and fundraising and the target is to raise tens of thousands of pounds for Help for Heroes, at least 80% will be donated to the charity.  Roar

Sponsorship is easy

1) Via SMS, simply text FIREWORK and your name to 82010
2) Online at www.roar-on-the-shore.co.uk
3) Onboard Wilts and Dorset buses (local residents)
4) At official outlets in the Bournemouth area including the Oceanarium, Bournemouth Eye (Lower Gardens), Front Bike Hire (Bournemouth Seafront) and the Tourist Information Centre (Westover Road and Priory Road).

Mark Elliott, Chief of Staff at Help for Heroes said; “This a great event and I speak on behalf of everyone at Help for Heroes when I say how excited and truly delighted we were to be approached, recognised and asked to participate. We are a charity doing what we can for our heroes and your generosity will help stage Roar on the Shore and give us the opportunity to do more where it is really needed.”

Roar on the Shore will follow a firework display launched from a barge between Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers at 9.30pm on Thursday 20th August.

This superb World Record attempt is part of the amazing line-up of evening entertainment during the More Bus Bournemouth Air Festival.

Taking place 20th – 23rd August, More Bus Bournemouth Air Festival goers will be in for an incredible 4-days of free entertainment. Displays confirmed include the awesome Eurofighter Typhoon, Team Guinot Wingwalkers, Yakovlevs, The Blades, The Matadors, The Red Arrows and Black Cats Helicopter Display.  The event is not just based upon visual acrobatics and feats of breathtaking sky-high aviation; the Festival has developed its successful evening ‘Night Air’ entertainment line-up.

’Night Air’, will include amongst other highlights The Band of Her Majesty Royal Marines performing the Beat Retreat, a hot air balloon show (accompanied by a laser show on Friday night) displays by the Royal Marines Combat Display Team, street entertainers and fireworks on Saturday night – it’s the event of the summer!
