A unique way to support Help for Heroes - how about a sponsored tandem skydive? By taking part in this event you get a once in a lifetime experience and raise funds for our wounded soldiers at the same time.
This exciting day will involve an introduction to the team, followed by a thorough training session on the ground. When you are fully briefed and it is your turn to jump, you will board the aircraft with your tandem instructor, the aircraft will take off and you will climb to 13,000ft.
At exit altitude you will move to the door of the aircraft and on the count of 3 jump out into freefall. For some people the next 45 seconds lasts forever, for others it is over in the blink of an eye. Your instructor will deploy the parachute at approximately 6,000ft for a gentle canopy ride to the ground.
1. Skydive with the Red Devils
There are a number of Red Devil dates throughout the country, organised by the fantastic team at Click and Jump. Taking part in one of these jumps is a truly unique experience as you will be strapped to a Red Devil! You can choose to take part in a special 'H4H Day', when everyone jumping on that day will be raising money for H4H, or you may wish to jump on other Red Devil days, when you may be jumping at the same time as people raising money for other charities. 2. Army Parachute Association
Help for Heroes Tandem Days with the Army Parachute Association
16 June 2012 and 21 July 2012 in Salisbury
This year Help for Heroes have teamed up with Click and Jump to offer you two Help for Heroes Tandem Skydive Days with the Army Parachute Association (APA) in Salisbury on the 16 June 2012 and 21 July 2012.
The APA are a club of military and civilian skydivers that are based at the Joint Services Parachute Centre where members of the British Armed Forces go to complete adventure training courses following their arduous training and tours of Afghanistan.
Many of the tandem instructors and camera flyers who will be jumping with you on your tandem skydive are either serving or ex military personnel.
To jump with the APA it costs £250 (incl. a reservation fee of £50) or for a jump and DVD package it will cost £350 (incl. a £50 reservation fee). You will need to pay your own reservation fee of £50 then the balance of the jump £200 (£300 for Jump and DVD package) can be taken out of your sponsorship money if you raise the minimum sponsorship target of £500 (£600 if funding jump and DVD package) online at www.bmycharity.com/clickandjump.
To sign up/book your place contact Click and Jump by calling 0845 608 8844 or visit their website www.clickandjump.co.uk and book online; noting your first then second choice of the above dates and that you are jumping for Help for Heroes. You will need to pay a non refundable reservation fee of £50 to secure your place.
Set up your online fundraising page up by visiting www.bmycharity.com/clickandjump and select Help for Heroes as your event. If you reach the minimum sponsorship target of £500 on this site the balance of your skydive will be taken from this account.
Once you have booked your jump with Click and Jump they will alert H4H that you are jumping and H4H will contact you directly.
3. Standard Jump Days
You can also jump at any of the 22 UK drop zones at any time of the year in aid of Help for Heroes through Click and Jump. Just click on the image on the right for more information. More About the Red Devils
The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team 'The Red Devils' is the official parachute display team of both the Parachute Regiment ('The PARAS') and the British Army. Their role is to promote both the Parachute Regiment and the British Army in support of recruitment.
The team is manned by 25 serving soldiers from the Parachute Regiment's three full-time battalions: 1, 2 & 3 PARA. Every member of the team has served a minimum of three years in a Parachute Regiment battalion and has taken part in at least one operational tour of duty in either The Falkland Islands, Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Sierra Lieone, Afghanistan and/or Iraq.
