Colchester Personnel Recovery Centre is a new build centre within the garrison at Colchester. Help for Heroes (H4H) have agreed a deed of grant with the MoD to provide up to £6 million for the capital build of the centre. As part of the agreement, the MoD must keep the centre open for a minimum of 10 years and ensure the facilities are used as a Personnel Recovery Centre.H4H has committed to fund and lead the delivery of the capital build including the creation of new accommodation facilities, social area, family rooms and a fitness centre.
The operating costs of the centre are to be funded by H4H with support from The Royal British Legion, who have committed £550,000 per annum over the ten year period, with a projected additional contribution of £200,000 per annum from H4H. The MoD has also committed to the centre.
H4H will run the centre with MoD delivering the PRC element to serving soldiers.
