Sharron Leak, a Help for Heroes fundraiser, has done a different fundraising adventure once a year for the past four years. Sharron is doing this in memory of her late husband, Adrian.
Adrian served in the Royal Marines and worked alongside the SAS when serving. However, for the last eight years of his life he suffered a battle with cancer which he unfortunately lost in 2011.
Adrian never lost hope though. He continued to plan everything in advance for his death. He decided that, at his funeral, he wished that people made donations to H4H instead of bringing flowers. Subsequently, Adrian and his family and friends raised £1,000 for H4H and from thereon, Sharron has decided to honour his memory and do one thing each year for Help for Heroes, something unique and special.
Last year Sharron took part in a freefall parachute jump which she found particularly exciting. This year, she's strapping in for Europe's longest zip wire challenge, where she'll fly over Penrhyn Quarry, North Wales, at speeds in excess of 100mph!
Sharron, in the past four years along with family and friends, has managed to raise over £8000 for Help for Heroes, to which we'd love to say a huge thank you!
